New course boost for local filmmakers

Budding filmmakers will have the chance to develop their creative skills in an 18-week part-time media course starting early next year. City College Brighton and Hove's Interactive Media course covers HD camera work, lighting techniques, pre-production planning, script development, location filming, editing and sound design.

Students will work in crews to undertake every aspect of developing and shooting a five-minute short film. The course runs at City College from 16th January 2009 and is open to students aged 19 and over. With the industry-standard equipment and professional teaching support, students will be able to produce high quality short films and be better qualified to progress onto their chosen careers. Simon Wilkinson, Director of local video production company Junk TV, says:
