Prince's Trust team make a difference

30 March 2011

A group of young people on City College Brighton and Hove's Prince's Trust Team programme recently helped the residents of Wavertree House, a purpose-built RNIB residential facility for elderly blind and partially sighted people in Hove, by undertaking a variety of gardening and painting & decorating tasks around the premises. The Prince's Trust Team programme is a 12-week personal development course which helps unemployed young people gain the skills and confidence to move into work or training. Wavertree House's Deputy Manager, Carolyn Currie, says:

'We were glad to support the Princes Trust and were really appreciative of their team members for their hard work and enthusiasm. The residents commented on how nice it was to hear young voices around the building and enjoyed talking with them. I'm so pleased with the work they did and it makes the garden look loved and cared for. Each member was polite, curious, enthusiastic, conscientious and a pleasure to have around the building."
