Soap star gives master-class to acting students

Nick Miles, aka Jimmy King from popular soap opera Emmerdale, recently gave a master-class in soap acting to Acting students at City College Brighton and Hove.

"We got some really useful information and hints plus a great insight into the soap industry and what goes on behind the scenes."

Nick, a former Brighton resident who lived in the city for ten years, says:

"It’s been a pleasure to see all the enthusiasm about what is a very difficult profession but I wish them all the best of luck and I’ve really enjoyed talking to them. They gave me some of the most intelligent questions I’ve had to answer in years! I’ve got family in Brighton and love the place so it’s nice to do something for the local community."

Course leader Andy Hoggarth adds:

"We are about to write and perform our own soap opera for live broadcast on the internet on the 1st of December and the professional insight and advice from Nick has been vital to the success of this project. The input we get from all our visitors from the acting industry makes sure that our students have the best chance of succeeding in their careers."
