A dozen students from City College Brighton and Hove are due to fly to Tenerife in early December to get some hands-on experience of life as a First Choice overseas representative.
The students, who are studying for a BTEC Intermediate Diploma in Overseas Resort Operations, will be shadowing the reps and learning about the reality of the job ? finding that it's a far cry from the sensationalist world of TV's 'Club Reps'!

The trip is part of the First Choice Partnership College scheme. There are 15 Colleges in the scheme and First Choice work closely with them, supplying resources and support for overseas visits and direct recruitment into employment as overseas representatives.
Helen Curtis, Lecturer in Travel & Tourism says: 'This is our first year running this course and we are really excited about the overseas visit to Tenerife. It will give the students an amazing opportunity to experience the reality of working overseas as a resort representative first hand.'
The scheme has been operating nationally for three years and is coordinated by the Travel & Tourism Open College, a web-based company promoting careers within the holiday industry.
