Students go ‘Back to the 80’s’ at City College

13 March 2009

Hospitality and Event Management students at City College Brighton and Hove have organised a ‘Back to the 80’s’ night as a charity fundraiser for Brighton’s Peace & Environment Centre. The Centre aims to raise awareness and understanding of social justice, peace, sustainable development and environmental protection matters by providing information, education and positive practical solutions to global problems. The event, which is taking place at Grand Central in Brighton on Thursday 19th March, will feature DJs, comedy, karaoke and a best and worst dressed competition!

Organiser Kerry Amarasekara says:

"Nearly all the students involved in the event were born in the 80’s and really love the music and fashion from that decade. We thought it provided us with a bold, fun theme to help raise funds for a local organisation that does such important and positive work."

Tickets for Back to the 80’s are £10 and are available at The Student Centre at City College’s Pelham Street campus.
