This year, City College Brighton and Hove’s Motor Vehicle section is celebrating a success rate of 90% which is 20% above the national average. Now, with the new term upon us, the high-achieving Motor Vehicle students are putting the shout out locally for old bangers that they can practice their skills on. These cars will not be put on the road, will be used for teaching purposes only and will remain within the Motor Vehicle department. Smaller cars are preferred as they offer more manoeuvrability and the College is particularly keen to secure Ford Escorts or Fiestas, Peugeot 306 and 106, Volkswagen Golf Polo, Vauxhall Corsa and Fiat Puntos. However, any vehicle that can be used for teaching purposes will be considered.
Phil Frier, Principal of City College, says:

City College needs cars!
"We’re absolutely delighted with the outstanding success rate the Motor Vehicle department has achieved and the College is really proud to be producing a highly-skilled new generation of mechanics that local car-owners will be able to rely on in the future. Now we’re just hoping that the community can help our students out by donating old cars that might otherwise end up on a scrap-heap."
If you are interested in donating a car to the students, please call City College’s Motor Vehicle Department on 01273 667788 ext 613 or email SP1@ccb.ac.uk
