Summer Exhibition at City College
Expect a feast for the senses at the Centre for Visual Arts Summer Exhibition in City College's Trafalgar and York buildings on Pelham Street, Brighton. The exhibition celebrates the creative achievements of students completing arts courses at all levels and features a rich variety of different creative work including photography, fine art, games development, fashion, textiles, graphics, illustration, interactive media and 3-D design. One of the stand-out exhibits this year is by one of Brighton's most talented emerging artists, 18-year-old Milo Hartnoll. Milo took on the notoriously difficult challenge of portraiture and painted three of his tutors, including Phil Tyler. Phil says:

Milo Hartnoll and his tutor Phil Tyler
'Milo's been a strong student throughout the year and he's tackled his final major project in a really considered, mature way. He's worked really hard, been excited by the process and has produced work that has made a big impression on everyone who's seen it. '
Carolyn Wright, City College's Curriculum Manager for Digital & Visual Arts, says
'The exciting and diverse range of Art and Design work on display in this year's exhibition reflects the wealth of fresh creative talent that emerges from students undertaking Visual Arts courses at City College. With the dedicated support of their tutors, students such as Milo are encouraged to explore their creative interests, discover their individual strengths and realise their ideas through all manner of mediums and outcomes.'
The exhibition is open to the public on Friday 11th June 10.00am to 5.00pm, Monday 14th June 10.00am to 8.00pm and Tuesday 15th June 10.00am to 8.00pm. There is also a schools and colleges Open Day on Wednesday 16th June, 10.00am to 5.00pm.
