Window on the World' at CCB

23 November 2004

On Saturday 4th December, City College Brighton and Hove at the Connaught Centre will be hosting 'Window on the World', an Open Day to celebrate internationalism and to promote the wide-ranging learning opportunities offered by the College's Adult and Community Learning provision.

'Modern communications makes it seems like the world is getting smaller but on the other hand, interest in other cultures, languages and traditions is growing' says City College's Director of Adult & Community Learning, Hugh Blair. 'Our curriculum offer reflects this, so we felt it was the right time to celebrate internationalism and allow new learners to discover the learning opportunities on offer to them through our 'Window on the World'.'

The event will run from 11.00 am until 3.00 pm and there will be wine tasting provided by South Downs Cellars accompanied by free international snacks courtesy of City College. Staff from the Spanish Property Shop will be available to discuss their portfolio of properties for sale and there will also be an opportunity to speak to someone with holiday property to let in Spain.

There will also be demonstration lessons on an international theme, including Indian Head Massage, Hatha Yoga and Shiatsu. Language tutors will also be on hand to offer free personalised advice on language courses including intensive and semi-intensive modules.

For further information, please call Brian Bell, Marketing Communications Officer, on 01273 667788 Ext. 488 or email bb1@ccb.ac.uk
